With an injury to Tuukka Rask, and backup netminder Jaroslav Halak starting on Monday night, the Boston Bruins announced that 23 years old rookie Dan Vladar will make his first career start on Tuesday.

Vladar was drafted in the third round, 75th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He's spent the past four seasons in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, and ECHL with the Atlanta Gladiators.

In 73 career AHL games with Providence, he's compiled a record of 35-22-10, a 2.32 G.A.A., a .917 save percentage, and 7 shutouts. In 60 career ECHL games, Vladar has 23 wins, 27 losses, 4 overtime/shootout losses, a 3.21 G.A.A., and a .904 save percentage.

The Prague, Czech Republic native made his NHL debut during the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs in Game 3 of their second round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Vladar played in 28:42 and gave up 3 goals on 18 shots in relief of Jaroslav Halak.

Internationally, Vladar has represented the Czech Republic on multiple occasions, most recently at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. In 2 games, he had a 0-2-0 record, with a 3.97 G.A.A., and a .864 save percentage as the Czech Republic finished sixth following a loss to Canada in the quarterfinals.
