Just when it seemed things couldn't get much worse for the Buffalo Sabres, they are. According to The Athletic's John Vogl, the team gave season ticket-holders the first chance to purchase tickets to a game against the Boston Bruins on March 20th, but couldn't even find 1970 people to buy them. The remainder will go on sale to the general public. Vogl states he got access to a seatinc Hart, and just 856 tickets were sold before they were released to the general public.

One ticket holder explained to Vogl that the tickets for the game on the 20th are more expensive than what he usually pays, an increase from $50 to $90. However, several others have since commented that it wouldn't matter what the tickets cost as the on-ice product isn't worth the money.

"John, my wife could have gotten me and her free tickets for the game on the 18th," said one Twitter user. "We turned it down because this team is just that bad that it's not even worth an $11 beer and then leaving after the 1st period."

It's honestly baffling that head coach Ralph Krueger is still employed by Buffalo. I'm not sure a coaching change would make a huge difference but it would at least show the fans that the owners recognize their unhappiness with the team and that they are trying to make things better. However, the Pegulas seem perfectly fine not even being able to reach mediocrity.

Buffalo's record is now a disgusting 6-15-4 and the team is almost certainly headed for its tenth straight season without making the playoffs. Something has to give for the Sabres and their fans, or the ownership could find itself struggling to fill seats when its arena opens at full capacity again. That may be the only thing that brings about major change.
