The retired NHL enforcer Kelly Chase shared an update on his current battle against cancer.

Renowned for his tough and aggressive style of play, Chase spent eleven years in the NHL. He played for the St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers and Toronto Maple Leafs between 1989 and 2000. He tallied 2017 PIMs in only 458 games.

Unfortunately, Chase announced back in December that he was diagnosed with Leukemia. However, it didn't stop him from getting involved in his community and raise funds for important causes.

"In November, Kelly Chase was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

Five months later, he shared the ice with his three sons in a charity hockey game he helped organize. The game raised more than $400,000 for cancer research (and counting). #stlblues"

Chase shared an update on his situation. He revealed that he started his fifth round of chemotherapy.:

"Round 5. Here we go. Just shook off the elbow pads and I'm about to punch this f&:/«kr right in the mouth. #l'mnotforeveryone"

Max Domi shared his support by replying this to his post:

"You're tough as nails Chaser. We're all behind you! Keep fighting 👊❤️ - Max Domi"

Our best wishes go to Kelly and his loved ones as they navigate that tough challenge.
