Preds defenceman Dante Fabbro suspended for hit on Brock McGinn

The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Wednesday that Nashville Predators defenceman Dante Fabbro has been suspended for two games for a hit to the head of Carolina Hurricanes forward Brock McGinn.

The incident occurred with just over six minutes remaining in the second period. McGinn had the pick along the board in the Predators zone, when Fabbro comes in and catches him in the head with an elbow. Fabbro received a two-minute minor on the play for elbowing.

The Predators will now be down three key defenceman as both Ryan Ellis, and Roman Josi are on injured reserve, and Fabbro will be serving his two-game suspension. The 22-year old will be eligible to return on Monday March 15th when Nashville takes on the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In 26 games this season, Fabbro has 9 points (2 G, 7 A), 21 penalty minutes, and is a -1.
