Owen Power bloodied by puck to the face: leaves game

Fans witnessed a scary moment during the Red Wings big 3-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres. Towards the end of the third period, Owen Power, a defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres, blocked a shot, the puck hit him right in the face, bloodying his nose and forcing him to leave the game early.

The replay shows David Perron lining up a pass behind the net, instead of passing it to one of his teammates, his shot goes straight towards Owen Power, the puck hit him in the face, resulting in him immediately falling to the ice. His teammate Alex Tuch can be seen raising his hand, in an attempt to indicate to the officials that Power's was injured.

Check out the replay of the incident, which shows David Perron passing the puck straight into Power's face, resulting in a bloody nose:

Matthew Fairburn described the incident in a Tweet, also noting that the Sabres are already missing Jacob Bryson, who was injured by taking a stick to the face.

Owen Power took a puck to the face. Lots of blood as he was leaving the ice. Sabres already down Jacob Bryson, who left this game with an eye injury after taking a stick to the face."
