Chaos broke loose in the game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Detroit Red Wings as two fights went down just a few minutes apart.

In a crucial Atlantic Division matchup between the Sabres and the Red Wings, Bowen Byram dropped the gloves against Joe Veleno, and just over five minutes later, Jeff Petry and Dylan Cozens went at it.

Watch both fights here:

"Veleno wanted to go after a hit from Byram and he answered the bell 👀"

Less than five minutes later, Jeff Petry and Dylan Cozens also dropped the gloves!

"Petry and Cozens goin at it. This one is fun!"

Before the start of the game, the Red Wings were two points from the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern conference.

The race is extreely tight, with the Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders all pushing for a playoff spot.

This last stretch of the season is one of the most interesting to follow in recent years. We'll probably need to wait until thevery last game to know who'll make the cut for the playoffs.

More to come.
