The Stanley Cup Playoffs are just weeks away, and now Maple Leafs Head Coach Sheldon Keefe has given an update on one of his top stars.

After missing the past few games due to injury, there appears to be major concern growing amongst the Maple Leafs fanbase about star defenseman Morgan Rielly. Today, Sheldon Keefe gave an update on him, and it's a very positive one for the team's chances going forward.

Keefe on Rielly: "He is day to day. But he is close to 100%." #Leafs

This is certainly a positive update for Toronto, with a potential first-round showdown with either Boston or Florida looming in just three weeks as they hope for positive news on both Rielly and Mitch Marner. It was reported that Rielly suffered an upper-body injury against the Hurricanes over a week ago, and while he's likely to miss the Monday night showdown with the Panthers, signs are good that Rielly will return in time for the playoffs.

With No. 44 expected to miss tonight's game, the team have recalled Marshall Rifai from the Toronto Marlies for the game, and while this game could impact the playoff standings all the way around in the Atlantic Division, getting Rielly healthy is much more important, so don't expect to see him on the ice.

Fully healthy, this Maple Leafs team are full of optimism that they can finally take the leap and push for the Stanley Cup, and while there's still questions surrounding this team, if they can have some luck on their side, they will no doubt be a team that nobody wants to face in the coming weeks.
