Tonight Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic has suffered a gruesome injury to his face. The injury comes after a difficult fight against Lightning forward Tanner Jeannot.

In a heated matchup between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning, both sides were trying to gain momentum. To do so Bruins forward Trent Frederic and Tanner Jeannot would drop the gloves in a wild fight.

The fight as you can see led to Trent Frederic suffering a bloody forehead after Tanner Jeannot landed a big punch on him. As a result, Trent Frederic was forced to leave the ice for further medical attention.

Trent Frederic has never been one to back down from a fight. From the beginning of the year when Trent Frederic fought Andreas Englund of the Los Angeles Kings to today he has filled his role perfectly.

At the time of the fight, the game was tied 1-1. The game is now in the first intermission and remains deadlocked at zero. Trent Frederic had not returned for the rest of the first period. It remains to be seen if he will rejoin the Bruins for the second period once the teams emerge from the locker room.
