Masnick was well known for his power-forward style play, scoring 59 points in his 232 career NHL games. He was most famous for his overtime goal in the 1951 semifinals, where he scored to force a game 7 in Montreal against the Bruins.

Masnick had a life outside of hockey, as well, getting his business degree and selling vacuum cleaners door to door during the summer time and off-season.

Masnick will have a special place in hockey history, leaving an incredible legacy, and Montreal Canadiens fans will rally behind him, as they have during the hard time of Martin St-Louis. We are sending our thoughts to the Masnick family during this time.
