The Philadelphia Flyers have been looking for goaltender depth since Carter Hart left the team, and now they may have found his replacement in Alexei Kolosov.

After a stellar start to the 2023-24 KHL season, Dinamo Minsk have now officially revealed that starting goaltender Alexei Kolosov is headed to the United States to join the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers are yet to officially confirm the news and reveal whether or not the 22-year old will head to the AHL or straight to the Flyers roster, but it's safe to say that he appears ready. In 47 games this season, the former third-round pick has put together a 2.39 GAA and a .907 save percentage in one of the toughest leagues in the world, as he now prepares to make a goaltender tandem with rookie star Samuel Ersson.

With John Tortorella recently showing frustration at the play of backup Felix Sandstrom, it's becoming somewhat clear that they need a new backup, but now the question is; does Torts want to run out a goaltender tandem at 23 and 22 years of age? Whatever the case, Kolosov wouldn't be coming to North America for no reason, and after keeping his GAA under 2.90 every season of his professional career, there's not much more for him to prove before getting to the NHL, so now is his chance to prove he belongs at the top level.
