The NHL has had many sponsors synonymous with their brand over time, but few have been more recognizable in recent years than BioSteel, whose time is now up.

A recent report has now emerged that reveals BodyArmor, not BioSteel will now officially be the NHL's hydration sponsor starting in 2024-25, signalling another step in the downfall of the company co-founded by former NHLer Mike Cammalleri.

Sounds like this will be the last season with BioSteel as the «Official Hydration Partner» of the NHL & NHLPA. It's not yet confirmed, but word out there is BodyArmor will be taking over the partnership starting 2024-25.

This comes just months after the NHL's current hydration partner, BioSteel, officially filed for bankruptcy, as it appears things are just getting worse for the company who may be on their last legs.

The company began way back in 2009, with the goal of competing with the likes of Gatorade in the hydration business, and while they certainly made a name for themselves, it's very tough to compete with such a well known brand. The company's popularity took off, especially in Canada, but after being bought by Ontario-based Canopy Growth, things just went downhill, with the NHL set to go through another change of beverage sponsorship. Despite being involved in professional sports and the NHL for years, it was just in 2022 that BioSteel became the official hydration partner of the league, with their reign being very short lived.

With Prime sponsoring Auston Matthews, and even releasing an Auston Matthews themed bottle, there were rumours that Logan Paul and KSI's drink could take the mantle in the NHL, but it appears nothing came close, and now they turn to BodyArmor, another popular brand in the sports world.
