Corey Perry was released earlier this season by the Chicago Blackhawks for an incident he reportedly had during a team function. After an investigation it was found he was still eligible to play in the NHL. Now he is reportedly being compensated for being released in the first place.

Insider Confirms Perry Will Receive Compensation For Being Released

A new report from insider Joe Smith has revealed that the NHL and NHLPA have come to a settlement regarding Corey Perry's termination. While Perry never filed an official grievance he will reportedly receive some type of settlement compensation.

Hearing the NHLPA has reached an agreement with the NHL and Blackhawks to come to a settlement re: Corey Perry's contract termination issue. There was a deadline for Perry to file a grievance that had been extended. So no official grievance was filed

The NHL and NHLPA have reached a resolution on the Corey Perry contract termination by Chicago from earlier this season.

Ultimately, no grievance was filed on the matter.

As of now the compensation that he will receive is unknown and likely will stay that way. Regardless Perry has now found a new home with the Edmonton Oilers where he will play likely for a Stanley Cup in the playoffs.
