Saturday was an eventful day for Washington Capitals veteran Evgeny Kuznetsov, who was cleared to return to practice by the NHLPA and the Player Assistance Program, but it wasn't all good news.
Kuznetsov officially clears waivers
Not long after, it was announced that the 33-year old was being placed on waivers by the Washington Capitals, and now we know his future in the NHL.
With a $7.8 million cap hit over the net two years, it comes as absolutely no surprise that Kuznetsov cleared waivers, and his need to be in the Player Assistance Program may have no doubt influenced other teams too.
Ultimately, he still has the talent to be a solid NHL player, but with issues off the ice and a major cap hit, it's going to take a first-round pick for a team to take that money off the Washington Capitals books.
