Wherever he's gone in his career, controversy appears to follow Evander Kane, and now, it's found its way to Edmonton as well.

Evander Kane causing issues in the Oilers locker room

Despite being a relatively good teammate and professional since joining the Oilers, things have gone down hill in 2023-24, with TSN's Ryan Rishaug reporting that those issues are boiling over in recent times.

We've seen that Kane hasn't been happy when he's been on the third line. I don't think there's a chemistry between him and Leon right now. I know that you watch body language and you watch the bench a lot, there was a very animated conversation two games ago between Kane and Leon on the bench.

According to his report, Kane has been frustrated with being placed on the third line, and with no chemistry between he and the teams second biggest star, the issues are arising quickly.

Will the Oilers move on from Kane?

Right now, it doesn't appear as though the issues have gotten that bad that he will be released in the coming weeks, but with two more years on his deal, this summer becomes very interesting.

Ultimately, Kane could be a huge part of this team pushing for a Stanley Cup, but if these issues persist, there's just no way the Oilers can accept him on this team, so given there's a few weeks left until the trade deadline, this may now be an even more interesting story in Edmonton.
