It appears the new acquired Pierre-Luc Dubois will be out for longer than initially expected by the Winnipeg Jets. Dubois left the Jets practice early on Friday with an injury that was described by head coach Paul Maurice as "'something tightened up on him." Dubois was listed as 'probable' against the Ottawa Senators Saturday night, but missed the game, and Maurice told reports Sunday the injury is worse than first thought.

"I'll tell you exactly what happened," said Maurice. "The game ended, he went in to get some minor treatment, not on an injury, the normal feel-good. Left the rink feeling good. Came back out the next day, got on the ice and something wasn't right. So we were just hoping it was going to loosen up. We call it a mechanism injury. There wasn't necessarily an event that bothered him that he came to the bench sore. It's just something that wasn't right. When he got out on the ice we looked at it, we got a little bit of a problem, we're not sure exactly how long it's going to be."

That's definitely not good news for Winnipeg. Maurice did add that "it might be a couple days, it might be a few more days than that."

"And that's the god's honest truth," said Maurice.

Dubois, 22, has played just two games for Winnipeg after being brought to the Jets in a trade with Columbus for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic. He has yet to hit the scoresheet. Whatever it is that's bothering him, the team has to be hoping that it sorts itself out very soon.
