Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Minnesota Wild are set to hit the ice again on Tuesday after a temporary shutown due to an outbreak of COVID-19. And, team is set to get a big boost to the lineup as it looks like Mats Zuccarello will finally make his season debut.

Zuccarello was ruled out for the start of the season back in December after it was announced he required surgery on his arm, the same arm he broke two years previously while playing for the Dallas Stars. Zuccarello suffered a torn ligament during the 2019-20 season and had been playing through some pain while scoring 15 goals and 37 points in 65 games.

Zuccarello, 33, is in year two of a five year contract that pays him an average of $6 million per season. It was one of the last moves made by former Wild GM Paul Fenton before he was fired and replaced by Bill Guerin.

Zuccarello has played a total of 576 games throughout his NHL career, most with the New York Rangers, who signed him as a free agent following two seasons in the Swedish Hockey League. He was never drafted. Zuccarello has recorded 129 goals and 392 points so far.
