Just a few days after being cut by Örebro of the SHL for not being in game shape, former first-round draft pick and once highly-touted prospect Josh Ho-Sang appears to have landed on his feet. Ho-Sang, who was loaned to Örebro by the New York Islanders after the team decided there was no spot for him in the NHL or AHL, has signed on for the remainder of the SHL season with Linköping

"I look forward to coming to Linköping and it is a good opportunity for me. For me, it's about coming here and helping the team," said Ho-Sang on Linköping's official website..

Ho-Sang was let go by Örebro after just five games, with the team's manager stating "Josh is far behind in training compared to the rest of the group and the adaptation to our game has not gone as fast as we hoped. In our situation...we feel that this is the best for us. We wish Josh good luck in his continued career."

Ho-sang, 25, registered one assist during his five games with Örebro. The former first-rounder (28th overall) in 2014 has managed just 53 games in the NHL to date despite many analysts believing he would have a solid NHL career. During the Isles' training camp in 2015, Ho-Sang was sent back to the OHL as punishment for being late for practice. There has also been plenty of talk regarding his attitude, which seems to be the reason behind him dropping to 28th overall in his draft year.

We'll have to wait and see whether the stint in Europe can get Ho-Sang's NHL career back on track. Time is certainly starting to run out for him. After this season, he remains a restricted free agent and property of the New York Islanders should they choose to re-sign him. If not, he would become an unrestricted free agent and could sign wherever he can find a spot.
