With the trade deadline quickly approaching, all eyes are on Calgary and what they plan to do with Noah Hanifin. Now, Elliotte Friedman has provided a major update.

Ellliotte Friedman Makes Massive Statement on Hanifin's Upcoming Trade

With Noah Hanifin being one of the most sought-after defenseman this trade deadline, the heat is on for teams to try and craft a deal that is enticing enough for the Calgary Flames to bite. Last night, Elliotte Friedman confirmed that Hanifin would be hitting the market and that US teams feel like they are more confident they can land him.
Friedman at the intermission says Noah Hanifin is going to the market, Canadian teams are interested but American teams are more confident they can sign him long-term.

Brad Treliving and the Leafs Need to Work Some Magic to Land Hanifin

There is a lot of speculation around the league that Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs were the leading candidates to land Hanifin, primarily due to the defenseman's previous relationship with the now-Leafs GM. However, if what Friedman is saying is true, it looks like the Leafs might have to dish out a lot more than previously expected in terms of an extension for Hanifin if they want to land him.
As the deadline approaches, we will see who lands Hanifin.
