Blue Jackets Looking To Poach Gorton From The Canadiens

Reports have surfaced that the Blue Jackets are looking to bring in Jeff Gorton from the Montreal Canadiens.
As speculation buildsNot sure how the Canadiens would feel about this, but why wouldn't CBJ call Montreal and ask permission to speak with Jeff Gorton? History with Davidson and a GM at heart. Geoff Molson might hang up, but is there harm in asking?

However, it seems like Gorton is committed to the Canadiens as the following report has emerged.
Regarding the Vice President of Hockey Operations of the Montreal Canadiens, Jeff Gorton, who has become a strong candidate to become the new general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets...

A source close to the file tells me that, from now on, Gorton intends to stay with the Canadiens to "finish the job he started".
We will now wait and see who the Blue Jackets bring in as they have a young core and could be contending sooner rather than later.
