The New Jersey Devils superstar Jack Hughes made a major declaration last night after a 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken.

In his post-game comments, Hughes explained that they managed to win the tight game against the Kraken because the goalies made the saves.

Here's what he said:

"When we get the saves, it's much easier to win."

The Devils' goaltenders have been struggling all season, which explains the team's rough start. Hughes developed on the subject later in the interview:

Hughes expanded on his goalie thoughts in the scrum:

"Yeah, I think (Daws) played really well. Vitek played really well in Carolina. You get goaltending like that the last two games, it shows the results. He did a really good job tonight and we are happy with how he played."

Indeed, only one goalie in Jersey has a SV% over .900 and none of them keep a GAA under 3.15.

They're currently fourth in the Metro Division, but are closely followed by the Capitals, the Penguins and the Islanders. If the goalies are able to play with a bith more consistency, the team could make it to the playoffs this season.
