Say what you want about John Tortorella, but when he makes a decision, he sticksto it. That was evident last night following the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 win over over the Arizona Coyotes.

Tortorella Refuses to Answer Flyers' Reporter's Questions

As you may recall, back in early December the Philadelphia Flyers made a surprising move, trading potential star player Cutter Gauthier, the 5th overall pick in 2022, to the Anaheim Ducks. While the exact reasons behind the trade never became clear, there were rumblings that Gauthier decided he simply didn't want to play for the Flyers and refused to sign an entry-level contract with them. Then, a rumour came from Flyers reporter Anthony SanFilipo that former Flyer Kevin Hayes had a hand in convincing Gauthier to request a trade, something Hayes denied and Tortorella was furious over. SanFilipo continues to get no answers from Tortorella during news conferences. Last night, he tried to ask a question, and Tortorella completely cut him off mid-sentence.
"I'm not answering your questions."

Flyers John Tortorella Officially Adds Reporter to the Blacklist

Torts unloaded on SanFilipo back in January following his initial report on Hayes and Gauthier, calling the reporter's podcast "silly."
"Are you kidding me? You think Kevin Hayes is going to do something like that? It just pisses me off that you guys throw that around and affect someone's life. Kevin Hayes and I had a problem and we couldn't come to an agreement how to play.

That's a good man. That's a good man. And what you said is going to stay with him. That's what you guys don't understand. You're going to sit there and say you have the right sources."

For better or worse, Tortorella is a man of integrity, and once he makes an assessment of your character, it's unlikely to change. SanFilipo is learning that the hard way.
