Ale Debrincat is not particularly well known for fighting. Rather, the 5'7" forward is more of a pure goal-scorer and a pretty good one at that. If he wasn't good at scoring he probably wouldn't be in the league. However, he decided to get physical today as he took on Ian Cole in an ill-advised fight.

Cole Smashes Debrincat In Surprising Fight

Tensions ran high today between the Canucks and Red Wings. They are not teams with a recent history of this kind of thing, but at the end of the day, scrums are quite common in the NHL. What isn't so common is seeing a 5'7" player take on a 6'1" player in a fight. That is exactly what happened today though as Alex Debrincat went after Ian Cole.

Safe to say that Cole won this fight. However, Debrincat held his own pretty well considering the size disadvantage.

Red Wings Pull Off Clutch Comeback Win Against NHL Leading Team

The Red Wings are currently in a heated battle for the 3rd spot in the Atlantic division, as well as a wild card spot in the eastern conference. The team helped their cause quite a lot today as they ended up defeating the Canucks 4-3 in overtime after they went down 3-1.

The win tied them with the Toronto Maple Leafs for 3rd in the division on points, although Toronto has two games in hand on them. Still though, the Red Wings and the Lightning are both playing good hockey as of late as both teams are nipping at Toronto's heels. This win should put more pressure on the Leafs to start playing better but we will just have to wait and see what happens.
