This key Toronto Maple Leaf forward has just been announced to be out day-to-day with an injury that occurred prior to the All-Star break, which is a huge setback for Toronto.

Leafs Announce Kampf Out Day-to-Day With Injury

The All-Star break is normally a time for guys who aren't participating to get their rest and recovery, rejuvenating them for the remainder of the season. That, unfortunately, wasn't the case for the Toronto Maple Leafs and David Kampf. The Leafs announced today that Kampf will be out day-to-day with an injury that didn't settle right over the break.
Keefe on Kampf's absence: "He got banged up a bit just before the break. They weren't happy with how it settled down over the course of the break. He's getting an MRI today. Unavailable for tomorrow, day to day at this point until we find out more." #Leafs
Despite having just 4 goals and 4 assists in 46 games this season, Kampf's absence will be felt by the Leafs. He plays a big role on the team's penalty kill.

Leafs Missing Jarnkrok and Kampf Will Hurt Their Depth

The Leafs will be looking for other players to step up in the absence of Calle Jarnkrok, who was announced to be out just a few days ago with a broken knuckle. Now, with Kampf also out, players like Pontus Holmberg, Nick Robertson, and Ryan Reaves will have to step up in those fourth and third line minutes.
Knies - Tavares - Bertuzzi
Robertson - Domi - Gregor
McMann - Holmberg - Reaves

Lagesson - Brodie
Benoit - McCabe
Giordano - Liljegren

Injured: Jarnkrok, Woll
We will see what kind of line combinations Coach Sheldon Keefe will come up with for the Leafs' first game back from the All-Star break tomorrow night against the New York Islanders.
As seen on Hockey Feed - "Maple Leafs lose David Kampf over the All-Star break."
