Several reports are confirming today that one of the Buffalo Sabres top four defensemen will be out for the remainder of the year due to injury. The announcement comes as an unfortunate shock to the Sabres and their fans.

Key Sabres Defenseman Done For The Season

Today multiple reporters have confirmed that the Buffalo Sabres have suffered a major loss. The reports indicate that defenseman Mattias Samuelsson will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.
Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) is out for the season, the Sabres announced. He's having surgery.
Samuelsson will have surgery to correct an upper body injury that has been nagging him for some time. As of now the specific injury or the recovery time has not been announced by the Sabres.
Now the Buffalo Sabres will need to lean on Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power even more with all of the injuries the team has suffered. It will be interesting to see if they bring in a defenseman at the deadline to fill the void for the rest of the year.
