The Vegas Golden Knights have been trending in the wrong direction as of late. The team now finds themselves nine points back of the Canucks for 1st place in the Pacific Division and the Edmonton Oilers are rising through the standings quickly. Now the team could face another significant hurdle as their are growing concerns about Jack Eichel's status after he left last Thursday's game early with an injury.

Vegas Golden Knights 'Nervous' About Eichel's Health Status According To NHL Insiders

Elliotte Friedman reported today that there is a growing sense of nervousness coming from the Golden Knights relating to the health of their number one center Jack Eichel. Eichel left last Thursday's game early with an apparent injury and did not return to the game. Since then, the team has placed him on injured reserve.
Friedman on Jack Eichel's injury (32TP): "People are nervous, I guess that's the best way to put it, I don't like to overstate anything I don't know, but I think nervous is the right word, until you know for sure that this isn't a bad thing, people are nervous"
The play in which Eichel was injured on did not seem to be injury related at all at first as he lost one of his skate blades. However, after he got to the bench with help from his teammates, he immediately went down the tunnel.

Eichel Critical In Golden Knight's Success

The veteran center has been a critical part of the team since he was acquired from Buffalo in a blockbuster trade. This season he currently leads the team in goals with 19 and points with 44.
So far Eichel has only missed one game, which the Knights lost 3-1 against the Calgary Flames. He is currently sitting out his second contest in a row as the Knights lead the Nashville Predators 3-1 late. While it is a small sample size, it stands to reason that the Knights might struggle with their top scorer out of the lineup. Stay tuned for updates on Eichel's status and how his absence affects the team heading into the stretch run of the playoff hunt.
