BREAKING: Expensive Goalie Officially Demands Trade in Post-Game Interview

Despite rumours that he requested a trade, nothing became official for Elvis Merzelikins and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Until today that is.

Moments after taking down the Vancouver Canucks, Elvis Merzelikins has officially revealed that he has requested a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

With many teams ahead of the trade deadline looking for goaltending help, the 29-year old could be a viable option for many teams, and while he's never been an elite goaltender, he's certainly a solid option.

This year he has put together a .906 save percentage along with a 3.22 GAA in 24 games played, and given how the situation has turned out in Columbus, it's likely just a matter of time until a deal is officially done.
