The Anaheim Ducks have one of the strongest young cores in the NHL, and while their success this season hasn't been spectacular, the future remains bright in Anaheim.

Young Ducks Star Trevor Zegras to miss significant time

After missing some time to start the season, Trevor Zegras was seemingly getting his feet under him, but now the Ducks have released a crushing injury update on the 22-year old.
Zegras suffered a broken left ankle in the first period Tuesday night against Nashville. He will undergo surgery in the near future and be out approximately six to eight weeks.
This is a major setback for a player that's had two fantastic seasons to start his NHL career, but now, he will miss up to two months of action, meaning that he'll likely play less than 40 games on the year.
The injury follows the trade rumours that began to circulate about the polarizing young star, and while those talks may pick up once he returns, for now he remains a huge piece of the Ducks future.
