The Anaheim Ducks have an elite goaltender prospect in Lukas Dostal. Lukas Dostal proved he was amazing last night with a 55-save performance against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Usually, it's Toronto Maple Leafs fans themselves calling out local media organizations and reporters for shoddy coverage. This time, it's an NHL team, and not the Toronto Maple Leafs either.

Anaheim Ducks Not Happy with Toronto Media's Treatment of Goaltender

Last night, the Maple Leafs were in Anaheim to face the Ducks, and came away with a 2-1 overtime win. It wasn't easy, though. Rookie goaltender Lukas Dostal put on a show, making 55 saves in the game to give his team a chance. Here's the headline the Toronto Sun put out today for an article written by Lance Hornby.
"Auston Matthews saves day in OT after no-name goalie vexes Maple Leafs"
Anaheim took offence to the headline, which, in all honesty, is probably deserved. The team noted on X that the so-called "no-name goalie" was just named rookie of the month, something Toronto media should be well aware of.
"His name is Lukas Dostal. He had 55 saves last night. He was NHL Rookie of the Month in October. Be better, @TheTorontoSun."

Toronto Sun Slammed by NHL Team for Disrespecting Player

For the Toronto Sun to completely disrespect and disregard a player like this in a headline seems bitter and immature. Sure, Dostal has played just 49 games in the NHL so far, but it's not like he came out of nowhere last night to tend goal for the Ducks. It's a bad look for the Toronto Sun. It's not the first time it's happened, and probably won't be the last. Steve Simmons of the Sun has had verbal sparring matches with both Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner during post-game interviews. It is interesting to see the organization criticized by someone outside of the Toronto market, though, Perhaps the editor will think twice about his next dismissive headline.
