Following an abysmal start of the season and a coaching change, the Oilers are ready to get back in the playoff race. Kris Knoblauch, the Oilers' new coach, isn't afraid to take drastic measures to send out the best possible lineup every night.

Last night, he decided to healthy scratch Connor Brown, despite his experience and his $3.225 million cap hit.

Everything points to the fact that the coach won't stop here. Another player could be watching the Oilers' next game from the press box.

Knoblauch to Scratch Struggling Kane?

Over the past few weeks, Kane has frequently missed practices due to a lingering injury that is clearly influencing his performance.

Kane has only managed to score two points in his last eight games and seems a lot less explosive than his typical power-forward self.

If Kane fails to get back to his form, in terms of both his gameplay and production, Knoblauch should not hesitate to send a clear message by scratching him.
