The NHL has been strict on teams using things like Pride jerseys and military/camo jerseys. However the Devils may have found the loophole to celebrate pride night.

Devils Find Loophole To Use Pride Night Jerseys

The NHL does not want any special night jerseys used on ice, as a means to stop spreading hate around the league.

However the Devils have found a way to use pride jerseys without breaking the leagues rules.

Here are the @NJDevils Pride Night jerseys, custom designed by local artist Kathryn Kennedy.

They will be worn during player arrivals will be auctioned between Dec. 21-28, with proceeds benefiting Hyacinth.

Again: Players can wear them anywhere in the building except the ice.

With the players only wearing the jerseys while they enter the rink allows the team to still hold an action for the jersey and send the money to charity.

The NHL has limited the use of pride tape and designs used on goalie helmets, but players in the league have been fighting these rules set by the NHL.

Other Players That Have Fought Back Against The NHL's Rules

There has been two goalies that have fought the NHL's demanding changes towards their design.

Marc-Andre Fleury fought the league by taking a fine to wear an indigenous themed goalie mask, that he wears to support his wife. After the league found out about they threatened to fine the team if he wore the helmet.

Fleury decided against it and wore the helmet on the ice

The other case was with Philipp Grubauer of the Seattle Kraken wanted to show his support for the indigenous community by wearing a themed helmet but found a loophole against the NHL's rules.

Grubauer has this helmet seen above, the loophole he found was that if he wears the helmet more than once the league can not fine him for the helmet because it is not a specialty helmet.
