This four-time Norris Trophy nominee and past Olympic Gold medallist has just hit the trade market and he could help a few teams out.

Elliotte Friedman Reveals Vlasic Has Hit the Trade Market for the Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are clearly becoming one of the NHL's biggest sellers this season, as they sit at the bottom of the standings and continue to offload their big contracts to make room for a rebuild.
Now, it appears they are shopping another one of their big contracts in Marc-Edouard Vlasic, according to Elliotte Friedman. Vlasic, a Norris Trophy nominee and Olympic Gold winner, currently makes $7 million a year.
Friedman (32TP): "I have no doubt they want to move Vlasic, they're not scratching a guy as much as they are cause they're happy with him.. This year and 2 more at $7M, and there's some signing bonuses there too, is he going to be able to prove to a team he's 75% of what he was?"

Defenseman Are a Hot Commodity in Today's NHL Market

Vlasic's stats may not be the most impressive for a $7 million defenseman, but with the way today's market is shaking out, some teams may be interested in taking a shot at bringing in the defenseman, especially if some of that salary is retained.
Teams like Toronto, Edmonton, and even the Dallas Stars have been rumoured to be on the market for a defenseman, and the Sharks appear to be selling.
