The NHL can be a cruel league where one single injury could end a career. Today a new report has fans and media worried that this could be the case for one NHL veteran.

600-Game Veteran Dealing With Major Injury

Over the last week or so there has been news that Maple Leafs defenseman John Klingberg is dealing with an injury. Up to this point the only thing we have known about the injury is it is one that Klingberg has been dealing with throughout his career.

John Klingberg says his injury is something he's been managing throughout his career. Unsure if he can play Sunday. Says at least it's a good sign he felt well enough to skate today. Optimistic this won't derail his season.

Klingberg had struggled mightily to positively produce for the Maple Leafs this season. Many thought it was just due to poor play however this injury might have been more of a factor than anyone knew.

Today a new update has fans concerned that Klingberg's career could be nearing its end.

Klingberg's Career In Jeopardy After Latest Injury?

Today a new piece of information from the Leaf Report says that John Klingberg gave an emotional speech in Sweden that has some doubting the future of his career.

CJ on the Leaf Report says, in Stockholm, Klingberg "gave an emotional scrum" about how "he so badly wants to play again" and adds "I don't know if he's going to be able to." Man... what happened

This makes the Klingberg injury sound career-threatening. If this has been an issue for years now one has to wonder if the severity has gotten worse. If Klingberg can't return the Maple Leafs will need to find a replacement to take his top four minutes.
