BREAKING: Blue Jackets Healthy Scratch Nine-Million Dollar Star
Very little has been going well for the Columbus Blue Jackets this season, and the team's coach, Pascal Vincent, is sending a message by making one of the team's top stars a healthy scratch.
Columbus Star Made a Healthy Scratch
Patrik Laine, who makes $9 million per season, is a healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets tonight as the team takes on the Philadelphia Flyers.
"Patrik Laine will be a health scratch for #CBJ in Philadelphia tonight. Adam Boqvist goes in as the Jackets go 11 (fowards)/7 (defenseman). Spencer Martin in net."
Laine has just two goals and three points in nine games this season, and looks almost lost when he's on the ice. Both he and Johnny Gaudreau were recently benched during a close game, with Vincent saying after that he simply didn't like the game they were playing.
Laine a Healthy Scratch for Blue Jackets Game Against Philadelphia
Gaudreau could be the next Blue Jacket to find himself in the coach's doghouse. He is the highest paid player in the team, and currently has just two goals and seven points in 18 games. Columbus is currently 4-10-4 on the season.
