Lucic Gets Injured After Receiving Slapshot on the Ankle
Lucic has been sidelined since October 21 after sustaining an ankle injury during a game against the Los Angeles Kings.
He attempted to return to the ice the next day but had to leave the game. He has been on the long-term injury reserve since October 27.
While he becomes eligible to come off LTIR when the Bruins face the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, it doesn't seem like he's fully healed yet.
Setback in Lucic's Recovery Process
Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is experiencing a slower-than-anticipated recovery from his ankle injury, which means his return to the lineup will be delayed.
Montgomery stated after Monday's practice:
"Looch is not progressing as quickly as we expected, so he's maybe a week behind where we expected, but it's not dramatic."
The Bruins had to deal with key departures this summer, and we believe they can handle Lucic's absence for one more week.
