Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen could miss some time with an undisclosed injury and recent reports include some inauspicious wording that alludes to it being a more serious situation.

On Monday, News & Observer sports columnist Luke DeCock noted on X, formerly Twitter, that the Hurricanes goaltender's situation is not grave in nature but is something that needs immediate attention.
I'm told the issue, and I don't know what it is specifically, is treatable and not imminently life-threatening, to the extent that clarifies things.
LeCock's post came in response to the Hurricanes PR announcing that Andersen would be undergoing evaluations and that an update would be provided when available.
Anderson, now in his 11th season in the NHL has been Carolina's top netminder this season, going 4-0-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .894 save percentage.
He last played on Thursday of last week, making 24 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers.

Halak in for a look

The same post from the team's PR account also notes that the club had brought in Jaroslav Halak for a PTO during Monday's practice.
The 17-year veteran played in 25 games for the Rangers last season, posting a 2.72 GAA with a 10-9-5 record.
A free agent, Halak has logged ice time in 581 NHL games with seven different teams.
