Olivia and Anna Melnyk, minority owners in the NHL, are reportedly opposing the return of a player to the league.

After the unfortunate passing of Eugene Melnyk, his daughters Anna and Olivia inherited the Ottawa Senators. Subsequently, they sold a majority stake to Michael Andlauer while retaining a minority share in the team.

Since the sale, many thing happened; including the Senators losing a first-round draft pick, a few injuries, a major suspension to Shane Pinto and the departure of former GM Pierre Dorion.
One of the ongoing storylines going on right now concerns the future of forward Alex Formenton.
Melnyk Sisters' Decision on Formenton
Formenton, a member of the 2018 Team Canada World Junior Championships roster, has had his reputation affected by the ongoing investigations. While no official announcements have been made, it is confirmed that Formenton remains a restricted free agent with the Senators and is currently playing overseas.
According to a recent report, the Melnyk sisters have expressed their strong opposition to Formenton's return to the Senators under any circumstances.
According to Nick Kypreos, the Melnyk sisters do not want Alex Formenton back on this roster, whether he's cleared or not.
Whether this entails trading Formenton or simply retaining his rights and allowing them to expire, it appears highly unlikely that Formenton will find an NHL team in the near future.
