The past few weeks have been a nightmare for the Ottawa Senators, and now, their new owner has revealed how the whole situation has played out.

Two major blows

Not only has the NHL officially suspended Shane Pinto for gambling, but they have now also stripped the team of a first-round pick due to their involvement in the Evgeni Dadanov trade.
Now, their new owner Michael Andlauer has hit out at the NHL and just how forthcoming they were with these two incidents ahead of the sale of the organization.
#Sens owner Michael Andlauer says #NHL did not advise him of either investigation - botched Dadonov "no-trade" clause or Pinto sports betting incident - before he closed on purchase.

«Maybe they didn't want to disrupt [it] to make sure the seller got the best price possible."

Legal trouble?

NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has revealed Andlauer's comments on social media, with the speculation being that the NHL withheld this information to get the best price possible on the sale.
Now, there's been speculation that this could cause major legal trouble for the NHL, and while that's yet to happen, this is no doubt a shady business practice for the NHL, and something that will definitely be looked into over the coming weeks and months.
