David Savard may be crowned as the toughest player in the league after tonight's showcases of strength.

Savard Blocks Shot With Hand

In tonight's Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres game David Savard might have just solidified the win the Candiens.

While on the penalty kill in the third period with a 2-1 lead Savard blocks a Tage Thompson one timer with his hand and proceeds to block more.

This act of heroism should spark this young Canadiens roster to pull through for their grizzled veteran defenseman.

A Recap Of The Game, Sparked By Savard

The Montreal Canadiens were able to hold on to that 2-1 lead and add another on the power play to give the Canadien's a 3 to 1 win over the Sabres.

Justin Barron's first of the year started the goal scoring for the Candiens, Jeff Skinner scored the loan goal for the Sabres.

The Canadiens would score two goals in the third period to rally ahead of the Sabres. Brendan Gallagher collected his second of the year and Tanner Pearson's third of the year on the powerplay put this one of out of reach.

The Canadiens have improved to 3-1-1 on the season and take on the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night.
