The Boston Bruins have been exploring the idea of trading Linus Ullmark since last season. After a record-breaking season and a Vezina Trophy, Ullmark showed that he's among the elite in the NHL.
The Bruins could decide to trade him for a considerable return.
With Jeremy Swayman, potentially as good as Ullmark, the Bruins could afford to trade Ullmark to get more offensive depth.
A particular team certainly seems to need a top goalie and has a surplus of forwards: the Los Angeles Kings, who seem to be only a top goalie away from being one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
With Pierre-Luc Dubois' addition, they have huge depth at the center position. They could decide to part ways with a player like Phillip Danault.
Danault always brings a great defensive game to his team, a bit like Patrice Bergeron used to do.
He would fill a huge hole in the Bruins' lineup if he were traded there.
Not only would they still have a top goalie with Swayman, they would get back a top center who plays well defensively.
This trade makes sense, and don't be surprised if a move similar to this one happens in the near future.
