The NHL can be an unsettling place to make a career. At any time the dream can be taken away and a player can find themselves out of the NHL. Unfortunately for an NHL veteran, this was a reality today.

NHL Veteran Finds Himself On Waivers

Today the Columbus Blue Jackets made a surprising announcement. The Blue Jackets have placed NHL veteran Eric Robinson on waivers today according to TSN insider Chris Johnston.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Eric Robinson (CBJ)." Johnston said in a post on X.
Now every NHL team will have an opportunity to claim Robinson and bring him into their organization. If he clears waivers Robinson will likely head to Cleveland and play with the Blue Jackets AHL squad.

Oilers Former Top Prospect Clears Waivers

Another piece of waiver news hit social media thanks to Chris Johnston, a former top defensive prospect who has cleared waivers for the Edmonton Oilers. Former third-round pick and promising prospect Markus Niemelainen has cleared waivers and been sent to AHL Bakersfield.
Markus Niemelainen (EDM) clears waivers.
The 25-year-old defenseman has struggled to find his footing at the NHL level to this point. He will look to get back on track in the AHL with Bakersfield and earn a call-up.
