The NHL is the toughest hockey league in the world, and with so many talented names looking to find spots in the league each and every year, it's becoming tougher by the minute.

Unfortunately for some veterans, that means they may be phased out as more skilled, youthful players make their mark in the NHL, and now, it appears that's what has happened to 36-year old blue liner Jordie Benn.

After 607 games at the NHL level, where he tallied a solid 26 goals and 137 points, Benn, who last played for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2022-23 has now inked a surprising new deal.

The deal comes with Brynäs IF, a Swedish hockey team, and at 36-years old, it will be a good opportunity for Benn to make his mark and get solid minutes, and if he can find his feet again, who knows, we may see him back in the NHL one day.
