Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden has been ejected for a dirty hit in the first game of the year. Suspension incoming?

Howden Ejected After Dirty Hit

In the third period of the Vegas Golden Knights opening game, forward Brett Howden laid an awful hit on Brandon Tanev that resulted in Howden's ejection.

#VegasBorn's Brett Howden is given a match penalty for illegal check to the head of #SeaKraken's Brandon Tanev

Tanev was very slow to get up. Major penalty has been called.

Tanev was visibly shaken up after the hit and has likely suffered a concussion as a result of this hit to the head.

Despite being the two newest teams, the Golden Knights and the Kraken already have a major rivalry. However, no rivalry should result in risking another player's health and safety.

It is likely Howden will wind up fined or suspended for this play. If he is suspended for this hit, it will be the first regular season suspension of the season.
