The New York Rangers, like many other teams in recent days, placed players on waivers in hopes of sending them to their AHL affiliate teams.
One of them has officially been claimed.
San Jose Sharks Steal Defenseman from New York Rangers
The Sharks claimed defenseman Ty Emberson off waivers!
Chris Johnston reported the news on X:
"San Jose claims Ty Emberson off waivers from N.Y. Rangers"
Emberson, 23, has never played in the NHL. He was drafted in the third round by the Coyotes in 2018. Since then, he has spent the last six years with the University of Wisconsin and in the AHL. Last summer, the Coyotes traded him to the Rangers for Patrick Nemeth and a pick.
Now, he'll continue his career in San Jose, hoping to play his first NHL game this season.
