Sens Put Former 1st Rounder on Waiver Wire

The Ottawa Senators are placing D Lassi Thomson on Waivers, the team has confirmed. Thompson, the 19th Pick by the Senators in the 2019 NHL Draft, is now eligible to be claimed by the other 31 teams.
Thomson, 23, has played 18 Career Games with Ottawa in the past 2 seasons with the team, with 5 Assists. Thomson was pointless in 2 Games last season in the NHL, with 7 Goals and 33 Points in 56 Games for the Senators AHL Affiliate, Belleville.
Thomson, a Right-Handed Defenseman, has one-year left on his entry-level contract, with a $863k Cap Hit. Playing for the WHL Kelowna Rockets in his draft season, Thomson had 17 Goals and 41 Points in 63 Games, named the 15th Ranked North American Skater by NHL Central Scouting for the 2019 NHL Draft.
Also placed on waivers by the Senators are Josh Currie, Dillon Heatherington, & Garrett Pilon
