Jack Eichel was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2015. It didn't end well with his first organization, as they didn't let him get the surgery he wanted. He was later traded to the Vegas Golden Knights and won a Stanley Cup.
Eichel had a rough time in Buffalo. He had to carry the team on his shoulders at only 18 years old, and they never made it to the playoffs. Also, the fans didn't like seeing their favorite player asking to be traded.
Eichel Sends a Message to Sabres Fans
In a recent interview, Eichel shared how he feels about his former team after winning a Stanley Cup.
"If I were going to sit here and tell you it didn't feel good to shut a lot of people up or prove them wrong, I'd be lying."
Eichel certainly received a lot of hateful messages between his last game with the Sabres and his trade to Vegas. Even now, when he returns to play in Buffalo, he gets booed whenever he touches the puck.
But now, he won't mind; he won a Stanley Cup.
