A collegiate hockey team has been banned till 2026 after some major scandals.

Northern Colorado Banned

The University of Northern Colorado is facing some major consequences after a hazing and underage drinking scandal.

The University of Northern Colorado men's hockey team, who play in the ACHA, have been suspended for two seasons related to underage drinking and hazing.

Northern Colorado is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association II and is a rather successful program having secured a few conference titles.

The University of Northern Colorado is suspending the program due to their findings. The team does not find this just and is appealing the suspension hoping to be reinstated.

If not, many members of the team will either transfer or not play, neither of which is a rather ideal option.

Captain Nick Sheridan said the following about the suspension:

"If we do get the three-year suspension, I think the program is done"

We will now wait and see if they have their suspension downgraded or if they will face the full-time for their actions.
