Hockey Canada has made another controversial decision and it has divided the public.

Junior A To Require Full Visors

It was recently announced that the nine Junior A hockey leagues in Canada will be requiring new players to wear a full-face covering helmet.

A new rule change in Junior A hockey will see all players wearing full-face shields by 2025.

The players will have two options for what they wear, a bubble or a cage. Both have their advantages and their disadvantages.

A bubble covers the full face of the player and allows for full vision but also fogs up quickly.

A cage on the other hand does not fog up at all but does not offer full vision as the bars often get in the way.

Is There An Alternative Option?

There is a hybrid full-face mask which is a combination of the two that tries to combat fogging while also giving a full field of vision

However, these are quite expensive and there is no number one go-to yet.

With this now reaching the best leagues not in the CHL, we could soon see every player playing in junior hockey sporting a full face covering.
