The Bruins have a lot of changes in their lineup as of late. With the retirement of both David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron, the team is set to look a lot different next season.

DeBrusk's Fate

Jake DeBrusk's contract with the Bruins is set to expire after next season, and he recently opened up on his hopeful future with the club.

"I'm hoping to stay [with the Boston Bruins]. It's the only team that I know and the team that I grew up with,"

The longtime Bruin is hopeful that his agent and the team can get something done prior to his official free agency next year.

Potential Breakthrough

Last year, the 26-year-old scored 27 goals and 50 points in 64 games, matching his career high in goals and a career-best in points.

This year, DeBrusk is hoping to stay healthy, and predicts a better season ahead for himself.

"Last year when I got injured in the Winter Classic. I was just really starting to come into my game, so it made me a little bit angry because I thought I was going to go on kind of a heater there, which probably would have ended up being 30 or 35 [goals]." DeBrusk said "If I stay healthy, I think I can score 30 this season."

However, Debrusk and the Bruins will have a huge hill to overcome, with the retirement of their longtime goal scorers in Bergeron and Krejci, and the loss of Tyler Bertuzzi, Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno, and others. Many are expecting the club to take a step backwards this year.
