After a disappointing run with the Rangers in the playoffs last season, Patrick Kane was linked to a return to the Big Apple, but as the summer rolls on and training camp arrives, it appears a return is no longer the most likely option.

A veteran superstar

While Kane is no longer the player he once was, he can still be a big influence on a team, and with three Stanley Cups under his belt, there's no doubting he's still a hot commodity.

Despite the injuries and the new environment for the first time in his career a season ago, Kane played in 73 games, tallying 21 goals and 57 points over that time, so where does he end up now?

A shocking candidate

While we've heard from many sources that Kane has been linked to Buffalo, Edmonton, Colorado and others, now, David Pagnotta has officially linked him to the Boston Bruins.

Given the losses they've had this summer, Boston could be a perfect destination for Kane, and while he doesn't replace Bergeron down the middle, his veteran influence could be perfect for Boston.
