The Penguins' situation isn't ideal. Their core of leaders is getting older, and the NHL is only getting faster.

Helping Crosby

They missed the playoffs for the first time in 16 years last season, but the arrival of Kyle Dubas will certainly spark things up. He has already made significant moves to improve the team, and he might not be done yet.

Now, a trade scenario involving the Flyers and the Penguins is going viral.

In this proposal, a perfect candidate to be paired with Crosby has been targeted: Travis Konecny.

Konecny with Crosby?

Pittsburgh would have to send an important package to get him, but they would also get Nick Seeler with that move.

But the main piece is Konecny. He had a great season last year, scoring 61 points in 60 games. If he were paired with Crosby, that number would probably go up.

Not only that, he'd bring some much-needed grit to Pittsburgh. He's known to be aggressive on the ice and protective of his teammates.

The Flyers would have to part ways with their top player, but they would receive quality assets like high picks and Samuel Poulin, the 21st overall pick in 2019.

Mikael Granlund and Jan Rutta would also join the Flyers. They may not be at Konecny's level, but they could fill a roster spot until the rebuilding is done in Philadelphia.

Would you make that trade?
